Email vs Social: Who's better at sharing?

Everyone wants their marketing message passed on. And studies show email still reigns as the favourite channel for sharing online - good news for email marketers.
Have you heard, however, that items shared by social media get more clicks than emails? A recent article from eMarketer says that while it‘s true more people click on items they receive via Facebook or Twitter - recipients MUST click if they want to see more than a blurb in these channels. With email, recipients can see the whole message, so they don‘t need to click.

Don‘t just measure clicks. And, eMarketer says, make sure your shareable content has a message “that will remain effective when read through an email client, since such messages remain the primary sharing vehicle for consumers.”
