Save on Microsoft Licensing when you Virtualize

By Scott Murphy

When Microsoft released Windows Server 2003 R2, they modified the EULA (licensing agreement). The modification expanded the licensing of Windows Server 2003 R2 to include one machine license and up to four additional licenses for virtual machines on that physical server. This was probably designed for Microsoft Virtual Server environments but also applies to other virtualization solutions such as VMWare.
